Waiuku
The last paddle leg on the Waikato seemed to take an age to complete. There was little wind, hundreds of whitebait stands to admire and numerous folk preparing their stands for the season starting 1st September
I got to Hoods landing Rd midday then came the 13km walk to the campground in Waiuku. I booked into a cabin for a couple of nights and am luxuriating now having showered, fully charged all the Gizmo's and enjoyed a real bed.
There was a frost on the ground this morning, not sure how often they get those here! A day washing clothes, drying the tent and topping up supplies for the next leg to Helensville.
