Rakeahua day 2
Hut day at Rakeahua with wind and rain. Drying gear and deciding on a plan for the coming days. It appears that a few low wind, low rain days are approaching so heading down the Tin Range is looming. The feeling of vulnerability is very evident as the open, although covered in muttonbird scrub, tops are notoriously windy, wet and not easily traversed.
I got an inreach weather update at 5pm that told me it was 25 degrees with light winds. The temp is in the low teens and the surrounding manuka is getting thrashed around!!!
