Oban
The day began calm, warm and overcast but by the afternoon was gusting strong enough to have to brace to remain still.
The ferry trip was pretty wild on the north side of Foveaux strait but got progressively calmer as we approached Stewart Island.
Not feeling seasick gave me hope that perhaps I'm not as susceptible to that as I had thought.
The option of a tent site in Oban begins 1st October so have had to shell out for a room unfortunately. A quick walk over to Paterson inlet gave me hope that I'll be able to head up there tomorrow unless the weather decides to be uncooperative!

The broad picture has me in these possible camps: Millars beach shelter, Rakeahua hut, a camp between Blaikies hill and Mt Allen on the Tin Range, somewhere along Pegasus harbour.
Once (if) I tag south cape I'll return along the same route. I'm guessing at 3 to 4 weeks depending on the weather primarily.
