Oban

Another frightening day as I sped down the inlet from Fred's camp to Oban as the front came through. Close to shore the waves mellowed but crossing the inlet was washing machine stuff as the wind and surf were 45 degrees apart and gusts made me hang on to the paddle securely. Only one hour forty for a trip expected to take 3 hours in sensible conditions.

Settled in my tent at the backpackers for a couple of nights. Showered and all the electronics charged up.

There is a weather window on Friday that may make a Foveaux crossing possible so will be watching for any changes and making sure I'm all prepared.
