North cape
A long day paddling up to North cape and returning to last night's camp.
Looking at North cape at the beginning of the day
A closer look at North cape
Looking NW from the beach at North cape toward Hikurua (the most northerly point of the North Island). I had intended to paddle around there but a briskish southerly squeezing around the corner would have made the trip back pretty tough.
The obligatory selfie with the lighthouse just visible over my left shoulder (if you squint)
Looking back down the east coast
A random picture of the spectacular cliffs that I passed

The plan now is to take full advantage of the high pressure system that should give me light winds for a couple of days and scarper southward at sea.
