Millars shelter
Awakening to clear skies and little wind put me in the right frame of mind to paddle up Paterson inlet to at least Millars shelter. Two shuttle walks across to Golden Bay had all my gear and excessive amounts of food and water ready to go.
In between the shuttle walks I got chatting to the backpacker cleaning lady. She had shark stories and an app that showed where the tagged sharks were. After divulging my plans she then found a few scary Pegasus harbour tales as well.
The paddle up to Millars felt great (apart from the constant scanning for gaping mouth's of great whites). The wind was strong and right on the nose, the waves were big enough to be breaking across the packraft but it didn't seem bad. No great open water traverses, just slow progress. Less than two hours and what a beautiful little sheltered bay with this huge structure to camp in.

Much to my surprise there is cell coverage here, hence this post.
