Mercer
Today seemed like hard work. The river broadens, islands appear and the current is sluggish. It was good to see the Bombay hills appear in the not too distant horizon
A couple of squally showers came through then a strongish headwind saw me sticking close to the edge to keep moving.
Once past the Mercer bridge
I was looking for a good place to stop and found a great terrace amongst Kahikatea
So nice to relax in the tent as showers pass by. All going well the Waikato river section should be completed tomorrow.
