Huntly
My first 50km day, helped by a good flow between Cambridge and Hamilton but pretty sluggish from there.
Today's track
I was bemused by a fancy footbridge between Hamilton and Ngaruawahia and am wondering if it was purpose built for the TA or perhaps part of the Waikato river trails.
Nice to be past Hamilton tbh. Some very fancy properties adjacent to the river but few places that were going to suit my needs!
Taupiri was an optimistic goal I thought when setting out this morning so thought I'd better take its picture as I slid past.
There is a nice track up the south side that I wandered up a few years ago so nice to see her again.
An early day as the breeze coming up the river was starting to annoy me and I was pretty done by 3pm. A nice spot appeared just south of Huntly. A few sandflies but not in Fiordlands league.
