Houhora
The promise was calm seas and light winds all day. It started perfectly with another early one

Gorgeous smooth calm paddling right down to Simmonds islands
This view is looking back up the coast from the same place
Things got a bit choppy heading around Mt Camel with a SW springing up which became decidedly obnoxious crossing the Houhora heads at which time I decided to call it a day. Nice to have an early day to dry everything out. Getting to here was the goal today as walking the road down didn't appeal with no possibility of walking the coast.
Tomorrow is going to be the last day possible for paddling as the weather is changing. I've decided to head back to Kaitaia to restock before hopping on the TA through to Kerikeri then see if more paddling options present themselves.
