Freshwater hut
The intention today was to go further up the freshwater, cross below Benson peak then go up to Big Hellfire hut. Progress was slow and then the river was completely blocked less than a km up unfortunately. Plan B, paddle back down to Freshwater hut.
I stopped at Top hut, the other old flax cutting hut and took these pictures
Soon after arriving at Freshwater Pete turned up and we ascended Rocky Mountain.

A walkabout at dusk didn't produce any Kiwi's but I did spook a Whitetail.
