Blackbridge rd and Puketi
The cell coverage is very weak here at Puketi so no pictures today 😕
Yesterday
The walk along SH1 between Makene and Mangamuka bridge was far more pleasant than the Kaitaia experience, wider shoulders and not too busy. I shouted myself a packet of chocolate biscuits as a treat at Mangamuka bridge shop. Once on the secondary roads there was no traffic at all. No cell service at Blackbridge campsite but a nice shelter and loo.
Today
Got an early start as no camping is allowed between Blackbridge and Puketi. An eel in the river was a highlight. The track was a mixed bag of rough slippery, walking down a creek, occasional boardwalk sections and a road to finish it. Occasional rain with quite a strong westerly but was never in the open so all manageable.
