A theme is emerging... Mild irritation and unease with being in an unnatural environment. While relaxing yesterday a chap rode a bike onto the footpath and left it parked across the main thoroughfare
Shortly after while crossing a road on a green pedestrian signal I was forced to walk into the main traffic lane as a car stopped well forward of the demarcation line completely blocking the pedestrian crossing.
Today I had a job finding the DOC office and then was told they don't have 'public facing personnel' like they do in the south island. Try the isite!
A query at the CAB this morning brought out the response that they were short staffed and no one could speak to me.
I can see it is going to be a long week.
